Our Origin

In 2018, vibration research between Icelandic boat builder Rafnar and the University of Iceland revealed that wave slam events on high-speed vessels were causing hull damage and crew injuries that no existing system could detect or prevent. That work produced the world's first patented wave slam monitoring system, the foundation of IMAS.

IMAS integrates data from existing onboard sensors into continuous guidance for captains and fleet managers. Edge AI processes everything locally with no internet dependency. From safety monitoring, the platform has grown to span fuel optimisation, fleet management, predictive maintenance, operator benchmarking, and training across vessel types from RIBs to SAR fleets and commercial shipping.
